PSYCH-K® (psyche – soul, key – key / “The Key to the Soul”)
PSYCH-K® is a method that includes clearly defined, logically structured processes that enable change at the subconscious level of the mind.
The originator of the method is Robert M. Williams, and it was created in 1989 in the city of Denver in the United States.
Its essence is based on ancient wisdom about the body and mind, as well as current knowledge from the field of neuroscience.
“PSYCH-K® is a set of principles and processes designed to change subconscious beliefs that limit the expression of our full potential as spiritual beings having a human experience.”
— Rob Williams, originator of PSYCH-K®
“The greatest secret of our lives is not our genes, but rather the subconscious beliefs that influence how we live life at the cellular level. PSYCH-K® represents one of the most important processes currently available on the planet for creating rapid and effective life change. This method can change beliefs that you may have held your entire life in as little as 15–20 minutes.”
— Bruce H. Lipton, PhD, cell biologist, pioneer of epigenetics, scientist, supporter of the PSYCH-K® method, and author of the book The Biology of Belief: Unleashing the Power of Consciousness, Matter & Miracles
Introduction
To begin, I would like to clarify several terms such as: Facilitator, Partner, Session, and ISUMATAQ, so that we can better understand what this method is about.
PSYCH-K® Facilitator
A PSYCH-K® Facilitator is a person who has successfully completed the appropriate training seminar and has become authorized to guide Partners in using this method during sessions.
The Facilitator’s role is to maintain a safe space for the Partner, helping them identify and transform limiting subconscious beliefs into supportive and desired goal statements that align with their life goals and intentions.
The Facilitator helps the Partner achieve the so-called WholeBrain State (a whole-brain state — the integration of both brain hemispheres), which is essential for changing subconscious beliefs.
Communication with the subconscious mind is carried out through muscle testing. (You can read more about muscle testing in the work of George Goodheart, DC, chiropractor and founder of Applied Kinesiology in the 1960s. He combined classical kinesiology, chiropractic practice, reflex points, meridian systems, and nutrition into one comprehensive theory.)
The Facilitator understands the client as a Partner. This means that when using the PSYCH-K® method, the Facilitator and the Partner stand in an equal relationship, without superiority.
The Facilitator respects and honors the Partner and their life journey.
The term Facilitator itself can be understood as:
“Someone who holds space.”
ISUMATAQ
The goal of every Facilitator is to become the best possible ISUMATAQ for the Partner.
The term ISUMATAQ originates from Inuit culture (Northern Canadian Indigenous culture) and means:
“The keeper of the sacred space in which a person’s inner wisdom is revealed.”
A PSYCH-K® Facilitator does not impose solutions or opinions on the Partner during a session. Instead, they guide the Partner through the process so the Partner can discover the answers they need within themselves — allowing their own inner wisdom to emerge.
The better the Facilitator creates the ISUMATAQ space, the safer and more loving the environment feels for the Partner, enabling them to express their authenticity more freely.
Within the PSYCH-K® community, we perceive one another as equals. Therefore, during sessions we do not refer to someone as a “client,” but rather as a Partner — someone who has chosen to attend a session with a Facilitator who serves as the best possible ISUMATAQ for them.
For this reason, we do not use terms such as “therapy” or “client,” which are common in other methods.
Work within PSYCH-K® is about working with the Partner, not on the Partner.
Within the PSYCH-K® community, we use the term Session, which best expresses the equal relationship between the Partner and the Facilitator.

The Process
For me personally, a PSYCH-K® session is a deep spiritual process.
At the beginning of the session
Together with the Partner, we establish a shared intention:
“May we agree that this session will be simple and effective within the framework of your highest good.”
Identifying the issue and setting the goal
The Partner identifies the area of life they are struggling with and defines what specifically troubles them within that area.
They then formulate a new goal statement that supports their desired reality — how they wish to feel, what they want to experience, and how they want to act in life moving forward.
Muscle testing
We test the new goal statement through muscle testing, observing either a weak or strong response.
Afterward, we test for permission from the Superconscious Mind to continue with the process.
Balance process
If permission from the Superconscious has been granted, a specific PSYCH-K® Balance process follows.
Action steps
To reinforce the new subconscious belief, the Partner defines practical action steps that confirm the new belief in real life.
Where there was once resistance or stress, after the Balance the Partner experiences peace and calmness. They become capable of taking actions that previously felt impossible.
Topics That Can Be Addressed Through PSYCH-K®
Self-confidence
“I love myself unconditionally.”
“I trust myself.”
“I am a winner.”
Grief and loss
“I forgive … for leaving me.”
“I accept death as a natural part of the life cycle.”
Relationships
“It is easy for me to receive love from others.”
“It is okay for me to set boundaries in relationships, and I truly do so.”
Spirituality
“I expect miracles as a natural part of my life.”
“I am part of the divine plan.”
Personal power
“I accept my divine right to personal power and express this power in everything I do.”
Prosperity
“I believe I manage money responsibly and wisely.”
Health
“I experience harmonious balance between mind, body, and soul.”
“I love and accept my body exactly as it is.”

The Subconscious Mind
We can imagine the subconscious mind as a storage space for all of our experiences — not only our own, but also the experiences of our ancestors.
It also stores memories from the prenatal period, birth, and early childhood.
Approximately until the age of seven, the basic “hardware” of a human being is formed, influencing the rest of life. The beliefs we acquire during this period determine how we perceive the world.
We may perceive the world as a safe place — or as a dangerous one.
Subconscious beliefs determine whether we accept ourselves as we are or feel unworthy of love. They also influence whether we feel safe being successful and wealthy, whether we can build wealth, manage money, care for our health, and much more.
The subconscious mind is fascinating because it can process around 40 million bits of information per second.
What the subconscious “allows” into conscious awareness passes through the filter of our subconscious beliefs.
This means that the subconscious mind directly influences all areas of our lives — self-worth, self-love, responsibility, relationships, work, money, success, health, parenting, and partnerships.
We could say that 95% of our lives are governed by the subconscious mind.
The Superconscious Mind
The Superconscious Mind also plays an irreplaceable role in the process of rewriting subconscious beliefs because it determines whether the work during a PSYCH-K® session is safe and appropriate for the Partner.
If the Superconscious gives permission, it supports the actual transformation of subconscious beliefs.
This represents the free expression of the Partner’s inner wisdom during the session.
For some people, the Superconscious may be God, Nature, Jesus Christ, the Universe, the Creator, Source, or the Higher Self — something or someone that sees the bigger picture of our lives.
The Conscious Mind
The conscious mind governs only about 5% of our lives.
It is the part of the mind that knows our dreams and goals. It focuses on what we want to achieve but often encounters resistance that prevents action.
This resistance comes from limiting beliefs stored within the subconscious mind.

The Symbolism of the Falcon
The symbol of PSYCH-K® is the falcon, which observes our lives from above, from a broader perspective. With its sharp vision, it can identify the specific “mouse” that must be caught so that the soul may fly freely.
The mouse represents a limiting subconscious belief that prevents us from experiencing life freely.
The essence of PSYCH-K® is therefore to free the mind from limiting subconscious beliefs so that the human soul can fly freely.

The Principle of Balance
As you may have realized, the entire PSYCH-K® method is about achieving harmony and balance.
During sessions between the Partner and the Facilitator, specific Balance processes connect both hemispheres of the brain — the left and the right, the logical and the emotional.
By achieving hemispheric balance (the WholeBrain State), we can rewrite negative subconscious beliefs into supportive and desired goal statements that improve our lives through concrete action steps, allowing us to become conscious creators of our own lives.
Trauma and Transformation
Trauma arises when we experience overwhelming emotional intensity in a particular situation.
For example, after a car accident, a person may suffer painful physical and emotional wounds, leading them to stop driving altogether.
If a Partner addresses this trauma during a PSYCH-K® session, the process may begin with the “Transformation of the Perception of a Stressful Situation” related to the accident, followed by a Balance for a new goal statement.
For example:
“I am a competent and skilled driver.”
“I am safe while driving.”
The new subconscious belief is strengthened through real-life action — sitting in the car, starting the engine, feeling calm, and driving again.
This confirms both the new belief and the healing of the traumatic experience.

Personal Reflection
Personally, I find PSYCH-K® to be a fascinating method that helps improve and simplify life in all its areas.
Its essence is to bring peace to the soul, lightness of being, joy in life, and the ability to see beauty and love in everyday existence.
Where resistance once existed, acceptance and ease emerge after the session.
Its intention is to rewrite limiting subconscious beliefs into positive and supportive goal statements that guide us toward our desired goals through concrete actions in real life.

“What happens in our lives is actually a reflection of            who we are.”
Environment and Epigenetics
I was introduced to this reality during a Basic Workshop in February 2025 in Brno.
It completely changed my perspective. I realized that personal growth and self-development are lifelong processes whose essence is evolution — without ego, without self-deception, but with love and respect for oneself and for life.
Have you ever noticed that when meeting someone new, they ask:
“What kind of family are you from?”
“What are your parents and siblings like?”
“What do your parents and grandparents do?”
It is not accidental.
People intuitively understand that family shapes a person.
This was beautifully expressed by Bruce H. Lipton in his work The Biology of Belief.
Epigenetics is a fascinating branch of biology exploring how genes are switched on and off without changing the DNA itself.
It demonstrates that we are not merely victims of our genes. Our decisions and environment influence how our genes are expressed.
Children learn through repetition — by observing parents, family, and the environment in which they grow up.
Family histories stretch deep into the past, and the experiences of our ancestors become encoded in cellular memory, passed from generation to generation.
What is beautiful about PSYCH-K® is that we do not need to investigate exactly what happened to our ancestors in order to heal.
Through PSYCH-K®, we simply choose how we wish to feel after the Balance, what we wish to experience, and who we choose to become.
By transforming limiting subconscious beliefs, we transform our cellular memory — healing not only ourselves, but also supporting the healing of our ancestral lineage.
How Does Imbalance Arise?
Imbalance in the body can arise through:
work-related stress,
exhausting relationships,
suppressed emotions,
anger,
unresolved pain from the past,
trauma,
addictions,
emotional suffering.
The answer to all suffering is love.
The PSYCH-K® method offers effective processes for managing these life situations through:
Transformation of the Perception of a Stressful Situation,
Relationship Balances,
and many other gentle yet effective techniques for processing trauma and relationship dynamics.

Who Is PSYCH-K® For?
This method is suitable for:
families,
workplaces and companies,
entrepreneurs,
managers,
parents,
individuals seeking healthier relationships,
anyone who wishes to consciously create their life rather than merely react to external circumstances.

Example from Practice
The first time I truly experienced the power of this method was while working on forgiveness.
Forgiveness is often underestimated, yet its power is profound and liberating.
Before the PSYCH-K® session, I physically felt pain in my heart area. I felt tension in my shoulders and found myself hunched over.
After the session, tears of relief and happiness came, followed by laughter.
My heart felt lighter. The heaviness transformed into relief and ease.
I straightened my posture, lifted my head, and walked home with confidence.
And it didn’t even hurt… :)
Thank you for reading all the way to the end of this article. I truly feel that it resonated with you.
Practical Exercise for Home
You can try this simple exercise at home:
Write down the area of life that currently feels difficult.
Describe what specifically drains your energy in that area.
Create a new goal statement (a new subconscious belief) that supports your desired reality.

Example
Area:
Relationships with men
Current struggle:
I keep attracting emotionally unavailable men who do not want responsibility in a relationship or family.
Desired reality:
I want to feel loved, respected, and supported.
New supportive subconscious beliefs:
“I am worthy of love, respect, and honor from a man.”
“I attract only good and honest men into my life.”
“I have men in my life who value themselves and women.”
“I allow only good people into my life.”
